Application process
Applicants must make a spay/neuter appointment for their pet(s) with the vet of their choice and confirm that the vet will accept a voucher prior to applying. Voucher applications must be submitted at least 10 working days prior to the scheduled appointment. Applications may be submitted online, by mail, email, or fax. A separate application must be submitted for each pet.
Fee
No fee to apply. Voucher(s) provided will likely cover only a portion of the spay/neuter surgery cost. Pet owners are responsible for any additional expenses associated with their pets' office visit and surgery that is not covered by the voucher.
Eligibility
Open to residents of Brown County who:
- are currently receiving any type of income assistance (WIC, Medicaid, SSI, SNAP, SSDI, Unemployment, or TANF/Ohio Works First) or
- have an annual household income at or below $29,000
