Provides protection and care for unwanted or stray dogs, and holds them for a specified period of time to provide an opportunity for owners to claim them prior to offering them for adoption. *Shelter holds lost dogs for a minimum of 3 days or 14 days if dogs are wearing a current year’s license to see if the dog has an owner looking for them before preparing them for adoption.

Fairfield County Dog Adoption Center And Shelter
It is the purpose of the Fairfield County Dog Adoption Center & Shelter to keep lost and stray dogs safe until they can find their way home, to care for the adoptable dogs until they find their forever homes, to protect Fairfield County through the enforcement of Section 955 of the Ohio Revised Code, and to continue to provide the community with education opportunities on the importance of pet safety, state laws regarding dog ownership, and population control.
