Description

Assists individuals in gaining access to a range of services available to them in the community, such as housing, income assistance, safety, physical and behavioral health needs, parenting education and vocational needs. Develops an Individual Service Plan (ISP) with the client and works with victims of domestic violence on issues of self-esteem, life-skills, and safety planning for themselves and their children. Also provides reestablishment services, such as relocation assistance and emergency rent/mortgage payments, security deposits for those with financial need. Often provides needed household items such as furniture, cleaning products, personal hygiene products, clothes, food, etc. Maintains follow-up contact with clients for a minimum of three months to two years.

Provides emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. Offers information, intervention, counseling, support, advocacy, aftercare, and community education concerning domestic violence.
