Eligibility

- Serves residents of ZIP codes 44052, 44053, 44054 and 44055. - Must have made at least $150 in good faith payment(s) towards their bill over the past 90 days. - Household income must be at or below 200% the Federal Poverty Guideline Level. - Must have a disconnection notice. - When Emergency Winter Crisis Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is available (from November 1st to March 31st), must apply for Emergency HEAP first. - Depending on the amount owed, a co-pay may be required before the Salvation Army can assist.

Required documents

Clients must bring the following: - Must provide most recent electric bill with a disconnection notice and client's name on the bill. - Photo ID. - Social Security cards for everyone in the household. - Proof of all household income (pay stubs or printout of Unemployment, SSI, Child Support and so forth). - If the person responsible for the utility payment is unable to come in for assistance (due to health problems or employment), then the person may send someone else with a signed note of explanation and their identification information. - A denial letter or documentation from Lorain County Community Action Agency that household has already received assistance current program for electric, gas and/or heating fuel.

By appointment only. Accepts calls Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
