Eligibility

Serves those who are experiencing the first signs of financial difficulty with respect to foreclosure (fear of missing a payment or having missed one or two mortgage payments.) Cannot help those who are being sued.

Required documents

Proof of income (3-4 pay stubs, Social Security staement, public assistance, child support, tax return documents) Proof of Expenses (Current billing statements, utility bills, all credit cards, any collection notices or letters from attorneys.)

Description

Attempts to prevent mortgage foreclosure by providing counseling for those experiencing the first signs of financial difficulty (fear of missing a mortgage payment, one, two or more missed mortgage payments). Will assess the client's financial situation, offer help with budgeting, set up a plan, and make the initial call to the mortgage holder to determine a workable solution. Does not provide funds to clear up delinquency or foreclosure.
