Animal Adoptions | Licking County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center
Animal adoptions from the LCAS feature dog registration, vaccinations for DPP and bordetella, microchip implant and a visit to a veterinarian for booster vaccinations, a rabies shot, and spay or neutering for $125. The shelter also has adopted a new policy regarding popular dogs that a number of people want to adopt. While a stray dog is being held during the mandatory legal holding period at the shelter, interested people may place a sealed bid on the canine. The bid must be at least $1 over the regular adoption cost. Bids will remain sealed until 8am the first day the dog is available for adoption with it going to the highest bidder. Any additional funds generated from the bid will be used for medical expenses for shelter dogs.
