The Heritage Home Program offers a range of services that help you repair, maintain, and rehab your older home, while retaining the architectural features and increasing its value. We offer site visits, color consults, construction advice, and best practices. You must reside in a participating community to be eligible for free technical assistance. Richland County is a participating community. The Heritage Home Program is not affiliated with any contractor or company and does not sell products. Those seeking advice can rely on an expert opinion that is impartial, knowledgeable, and experienced in the field. Technical Assistance Services Include: •Site visits to the property •Recommendations on maintenance, repair, rehab, additions, and modernization of kitchens and bathrooms •Construction advice •Evaluation of contractor bids and estimates •Guidance for supplies & resources •How to increase energy-efficiency and sustainability •Color consults Our old house experts can answer questions about repairs, materials, contractors and much more. This service is provided to the owner of houses that are more than 50 years old. The houses do not need to be historical and do not need to be in a historic district.
