Investigates reports of child abuse, neglect or abandonment; provides for temporary placement of children who have been removed from the custody of the adults who are responsible for their care. Works with families who are having a problem with child abuse with the goal of facilitating continued family unification or reunification; provides support services for children in permanent placement.
