Safe Point Program | Zanesville-muskingum County Health Department

The goal of the Safe Point program is to reduce the rapid rise in disease by providing clean needles along with education about risks of sharing needles. The program is not designed to merely distribute needles, rather the needles are a way to educate participants so they can be encouraged to seek treatment and/or assisted in navigating the medical or mental health systems during their road to recovery. Needles currently on hand have all been donated. Program participants will not be arrested for drug paraphernalia-related issues when coming to or going away from SafePoint; however, drug use on or near the premises is prohibited.
