Sponsors twelve-step mutual support group meetings within the local community to assist alcoholics and their families and friends in overcoming their drinking problem through mutual support at regular meetings. Offer meetings for specific populations (LGBTQ, Men and Women only groups). Some groups provide proof of attendance at meetings for those who are required by the courts to attend these meetings. Child care may be available for certain groups.

Application process

Phone for information or visit website about support group location, times, and meeting days. Websites are preferred, but client may phone office for meeting information. Most phone lines are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All locations accept voicemail messages, if no one answers call will be returned. (Voicemail does not provide information on meetings.)

Fee

None. All contributions are voluntary. Membership in AA involves no dues or fees.

A variety of types of meetings are available, including open meetings (for anyone), closed meetings (alcoholics only), meetings for alcoholics and members of their immediate families, mixed meetings (men and women), meetings for women only, for men only, non-smoking meetings, meetings for those with disabilities, meetings with sign language translation for the deaf/hard of hearing, meetings for gay men, for lesbians, for those with mental illness, and meetings for those just beginning the process of dealing with a drinking problem.
