Snap-Ed | Ohio State University Extension - Lorain County

Offers research-based nutrition information for low-income children (PreK to 12th grade) and adults in a series of at least three (3) interactive lessons, with the goal to improve the likelihood of healthy food choices and active lifestyle choices. Program focuses on Diet Quality, Physical Activity, Food Safety and Food Resource Management. Classes focus on fruits and vegetables, whole grain, low-fat dairy, and MyPlate. Also offers Cooking Matters, a series of classes on healthy meal preparation and sensible shopping. - Offered in partnership with Department of Job and Family Services.

Application process

Call the office and speak with the SNAP-Ed contact person for more information. Sessions are held at sites within the community. Sessions can be scheduled at local agencies, community centers, schools, churches and so forth. Call to schedule a session for a group.
