Yard Waste Composting Facility | Richland County Solid Waste

Operates a yard waste composting facility at Cairns Road, Mansfield, across from the old Richland County Landfill. Accepts: brush, Christmas trees, shrubs, grass, leaves, trees limbs, and wood chips. No yard waste materials will be accepted greater than six inches in diameter. Materials will be accepted loose, in bulk or in paper bags. Any plastic or ties of any kinds must be removed and taken by resident. Call for disposal rates and compost for sale prices. Offers free Christmas tree recycling for all Richland County residents. All ornaments and tinsel need to be removed from the tree and drop off will be at any of the Richland County Solid Waste Authority’s Recycling Drop Off Box locations or outside the fence at the Yard Waste Facility located at 441 Cairns Road in Mansfield. Offers year round collection of electronics, appliances and household recyclables at the National Parkway facility also the following programs: SCRAP recycling trailer, tire recycling, environmental education in the county, litter control within the county, Yard Waste Composting Facility, promotion of buying recycled, and other programs dealing with solid waste within the county.
