Eligibility

Serves Geauga County residents with low income or who are facing financial hardship (this is considered on case-by-case basis). Assistance is granted only for emergency situations. This is a program of last resort - if the client is eligible for assistance through another service (such as PRC, EHEAP), they should seek assistance through one of those services first. In cases where the amount of assistance through this program is not enough to cover the cost of the client's need - the client will need to show that they have the resources to cover the remaining cost. Availability of assistance will vary due to what funds the agency has on hand. For utilities assistance, must be facing disconnection or already be in disconnect. For rent assistance, must be facing eviction (either a court ordered eviction or 3-day notice from the landlord). Home repairs must be related to emergency issues that threten the health and safety of the household.
