- Early voting takes place at the Summit County Board of Elections office for each Election. Hours for in person early voting are subject to change. Visit the Summit County Board of Elections website for the most current in person early voting hours. - Absentee ballots are available the day after the close of registration for each election.

Voters planning to vote by absentee ballot must complete a request for an absentee ballot. Applications and ballots may only be returned by mail or in person. Electronic applications are not accepted for absentee ballots (except for Uniformed and Overseas Citizens).

No fee to vote. Must pay postage to mail application and returned absentee ballot to Board of Elections.

Serves residents of Summit County. Must be registered in the State of Ohio for at least 30 days prior to the election in which they plan to vote. If a voter changes their mind and goes to the polls after requesting an absentee ballot, then they will be required to cast a provisional ballot.
