Consumer Law - Bankruptcy, Debtor's Rights, General Legal Aid | Legal Aid Of Western Ohio
Provides legal assistance with filing bankruptcies, cases involving debt collectors, garnishments and repossessions, student loan discharge and collection issues, credit reporting problems, auto purchase and loan problems, payday loans and other lending issues. Phone the Legal Aid Line of Western Ohio: M-F: 9:00am-4:00pm for information and to determine eligibility. When you call, you will be asked to enter your telephone number for an automated call back. Be sure to enter your 10-digit telephone number carefully. Return calls are made on the same day. May also request service through the website. Those who qualify for bankruptcy assistance will be sent forms.

Eligibility
Gross household income of 125% of current federal poverty guidelines or below, but will evaluate clients with gross incomes up to 200% of current federal poverty guidelines. Will consider expenses such as childcare, transportation, and health care as well as certain assets when determining financial eligibility for service. Income and asset limits do not apply to persons age 60 or older. Lima Office serves Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, and Mercer counties. Defiance office serves Van Wert, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, and Williams counties. Service is limited by availability of staff and funding. There is no guarantee that a lawyer will be available to take a client's case.
