Application process

<p>Individuals seeking their first passport, whose previous passport was issued when they were under the age of 16, whose previous passport was lost or stolen, or whose previous passport was issued more than 15 years ago must apply in person. A list of application acceptance facilities is available <a href="https://iafdb.travel.state.gov/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="underline text-blue-700">online</a>. Applicants who do not meet these criteria may renew their passport by mail or <a href="https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/renew-online.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="underline text-blue-700">online</a>.</p>
