- Serves Jefferson County households with at least one child age of 18 and under (or through age 19 if the child is still in high school), pregnant women (in at least 6th month of pregnancy), and, in certain cases, the non-custodial father or mother.
- Family must have income which is at or below 150% of the federal poverty level.
- Assistance must be for an emergent need which, if not met, threatens the safety, health or well-being of one or more family members.
- At least one member of the family must be a U.S. citizen or qualified alien.
- Assistance may only be granted once in a 12-month period.
- Client may not receive PRC assistance for the same thing three (3) years in a row. If the amount available from PRC assistance is not sufficient to meet the presenting need, PRC may not be approved. If the client has received PRC assistance through another county, the amount of assistance given will count against their $500 yearly cap.
