Description

Offers information to assist the caregiver in making decisions and solving problems relating to their care giving role. Provides assistance in gaining access to available supportive and supplemental services. Offers respite care to enable the caregivers to be temporarily relieved from their caregiver responsibility. Free caregiver resource books available. Comfort of Home book is a general book on caregiving. Disease specific books; Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, and Stroke. Also Mental Fitness for Life book. Free monthly caregiver newsletter.

Provides a comprehensive, coordinated service system for older and disabled individuals in the nine county planning and service area ensuring availability of a variety of services in their communities to help them secure and maintain maximum independence and dignity in a home environment. Administers the Community Care Coordination Program, Family Caregiver Support Program, Housing/Home Repair Program, Information and Referral, Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, Housing Directory for Seniors, Energy Assistance, HEMEN (Helping Elderly Meet Essential Needs), Training, Alzheimer's and Caregiver Respite, Assisted Living Program and PASSPORT Program. Case management of Ohio Homecare waiver individuals. Covers nine counties: Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot.
