Victim Services | Cleveland Rape Crisis Center

Provides support, assistance and legal education to survivors of rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse when survivors choose to prosecute the offenders. Explains the legal aspects of rape and assault (but does not give legal advice), facilitates communication between client and other parties such as police and the courts, helps clients write Victim Impact Statements, and assists with dealing with the Ohio Parole Board. Helps clients access programs for victims of crimes in the State of Ohio and makes referrals to lawyers.

Application process

Those who indicate at the hospital that they experienced a rape or sexual assault within the past 72 hours should first be offered a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) in the emergency room, if they are at a hospital that offers this service (See: SANE programs). May phone intake line for an appointment or phone the hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Survivors of rape, incest or related offenses and their family and friends who choose to prosecute in Cuyahogaa, Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula Counties.
