Application process
Call the office for more information or to request a grant application. Grant applications available online at www.barbertoncf.org/grants-application. Quarterly Grant Process takes approximately eight (8) weeks. Small Grant Process takes approximately two (2) to four (4) weeks. Visit website for full details. Note: Grant requests larger than $5,000: Accepted three (3) times a year. See website for schedule and focus areas. Grant Requests of $5,000 or less: Reviewed monthly. All efforts should be made to submit grant no less than 45 days prior to the program start date.

Eligibility
- All applicants must be not-for-profit organizations and the funds requested must exclusively serve the citizens of Barberton. - Must be a "qualified organization" which means an organization described in Section 501(c)(3) and Sections 509(a)(1) or (2) of the Internal Revenue Code OR is a government unit described in Section 170(c)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(v) of the Code. - Organization must have been in existence for a minimum of two years prior to the application. It is not required that the organization be a "qualified organization" for the last two (2) years. Grants are not given to: - Individuals. - Projects that do not exclusively benefit the citizens of Barberton. - Fund on-going operating expenses, including salaries. - Fund debt-reductions, deficits, or previous obligations. - Fund annual fundraising drives or fundraising activities. - Fund political projects, sabbatical leaves, or scholarly research. - Fund venture capital for competitive profit-making activities. - Religious organizations for religious activities. - Endowments housed at institutions other than the Barberton Community Foundation.
