Driver Intervention Program | Ohio Department Of Mental Health And Addiction Services

Provides an online searchable database of certified Driver Intervention Programs (DIP). DIP is a sentencing alternative to the minimum mandatory 3-day jail term for first offense OVI/DUI convictions. A 6-day DIP is also available. The DIP curriculum includes education and small group discussions that focus on the symptoms of drug or alcohol abubse, treatment and self-help resources, and the legal consequences of driving while impaired.

Eligibility

Those with a first offense OVi/DUI conviction. The judge has the discretion to provide an option to serve the mandatory 3-day sentence at a certified Driver Intervention Program or at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO).
