Serves women who are pregnant OR who are postpartum for up to six months after the termination of a pregnancy by birth, miscarriage or abortion. Both mother and child will receive assistance during pregnancy and until the baby reaches one year of age. After that, the child will continue to receive food assistance through their fifth birthday. IN ADDITION: those who have custody of a child (including fathers and kinship caregivers) are eligible to receive food assistance for the child through the child's fifth birthday. Those younger than 18 do NOT need parental/guardian permission. Eligible individuals must live in Geauga County and must be at nutritional risk as determined by an agency professional using the Federal Nutritional Risk Priority System. Income eligibility guidelines are up to 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Number in household includes unborn children (Example: A pregnant, single woman is a household of two). Definition of income does NOT include household assets. Individuals receiving Medicaid, Ohio Works First or Food Stamps automatically meet income eligibility.
