Eligibility

Individuals seeking assistance must be either staying at or have plans to stay at a domestic violence shelter. Will not provide assistance to pay a bill where boarding has already been completed.

Required documents

Written estimate from kennel/veterinarian for fees Form W-9 from kennel or veterinarian if fees will exceed $600 in a calendar year.

Application process

Application is online only. Must be completed and submitted by a worker in a domestic violence shelter. Obtain permission from the client to release information to the organization. Request an estimate from kennel/veterinarian. If fees will exceed $600 in a calendar year, kennel/vet must agree to provide an IRS form W-9 for tax purposes. Will need to provide regular updates on the situation to the organization if requested.

Provides funds to pay to shelter pets for eligible individuals in domestic violence situations. Pays to board a pet in a private boarding kennel. Assistance may include fees for any vaccinations needed by the pet in order to enter a kennel.
