COUNSELING - UTILITY BILL PAYMENT PLANS FOR PRC CLIENTS | CHN HOUSING PARTNERS

Provides help in arranging payment plans and setting up payment terms for gas, electric, or water utilities for clients who have been referred by Job and Family Services as a part of the PRC application process. During appointments, will also assist client with applying for HEAP and PIPP Plus. Only serves clients who are in the process of applying for PRC.

Application process

Must first have referral from Job and Family Services PRC program. If power is still on, phone for appointment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If power has been shut off may walk-in M-F: 8:30am-3:00pm (Utility companies will not issue a reconnect after 12:00noon; so those who are served after 12:00noon will not get service back until next business day). Walk-in slots are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligibility

Serves Cuyahoga County who have been approved for PRC only; will not serve anyone who does not have a referral from Job and Family Services. Serves those who have been referred as a part of the PRC application process and are customers of Dominion, First Energy, Columbia Gas, Ohio Edison, Cleveland Public Power, or the Cleveland Division of Water who are behind on their payments, have a disconnection notice, or have been disconnected. Service is granted on a case-by-case basis (some clients may owe too high of an arrearage for the agency to set up a payment plan that results in immediate restoration of service).
