Eligible individuals, aged 18 or more, low-income, and residents of Cuyahoga County. Call for specific income limits. Will take calls regarding individuals with property they live in and property they rent out. Criminal cases can be handled in Euclid and Cleveland Heights courts.
M-F: 8:30am-5:00 By appointment only during the academic year (September - May) as scheduled. Not available during school breaks although people may phone year-round to determine their eligibility for services.

Description

Provides representation to low-income clients by 3rd-year law students, operating under the supervision of faculty. Cases handled include consumer home repair, misdemeanor criminal cases (in select suburban courts see eligibility), benefits advocacy, Social Security Disability appeals, health care issues and guardianship removal. The clinic CANNOT handle family law cases, health care personal injury or malpractice cases, bankruptcy or felonies, does not help with employment law concerns, and does not assist with expunging of criminal records.
