Head Start | Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission

Head Start is a free, developmentally appropriate preschool education and socialization program for income eligible 3, 4, and 5 year old children and their families. Children with special needs are also eligible. The program operates according to applicable Head Start and Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services regulations. We strive to provide an environment where children feel safe and are encouraged to be active and creative explorers trying out their own ideas and thinking their own thoughts in areas that interest them. The half day center option is available for children to attend a preschool classroom either in the morning or afternoon for 3 ½ hours Monday through Thursday. Children attending the morning session are served an approved USDA breakfast. The afternoon session children receive lunch and a snack.
