Veterans Housing Rehabilitation Program | Family And Community Services

Provides 5-year forgivable loans to disabled Veterans for home repairs and modifications. Modifications and rehabilitation of the primary residence may include: - Making physical modifications to accommodate the functional limitations that result from having a disability such as wheel chair ramps, bathroom fixtures, special lighting, and so forth. - Making physical modifications to allow for a Veteran's caregiver. - Rehabilitation of a residence that is in disrepair. - Installing energy efficiency features or equipment when utility costs are a financial burden. - Other activities that address the adaptive housing needs of the Veteran.

Eligibility

Serves disabled Veterans in Cuyahoga, Portage, Stark, and Summit counties whose income does not exceed 80% of the median area income. Property must be owned by the Veteran who is applying, must have current property insurance, and must be current on property taxes.
