Application process

On election day, voters must vote in the polling place that serves the address on their voter registration. Those in line at 7:30pm will be allowed to vote. Individuals who wish to vote curbside must send someone into the polling location and request board staff send out officials who can administer voting curbside. Those who find themselves (or a minor child) hospitalized on election day may call to speak with staff regarding the process to vote. Ask for both the polling address and the precinct number that goes with the registration address, since many polling locations serve more than one precinct. Polling place information is also available by phone or web site any time. Prior to election day, when calling for polling place after 4:30pm, an automated phone system will assist voters. Live staff may be available during expanded hours to give information on election day. Those walking in to vote on election day may be required to vote a provisional ballot by poll workers for a variety of situations. Poll workers will provide information on how to verify documents in order to ensure provisional ballots are counted when verification of voter registration is made. Voters voting a provisional ballot have four days immediately after election day to present acceptable documents at the board of elections in their county in order to have their votes counted. Those voting a provisional ballot on election day in a precinct other than the one assigned to them will not have their ballot counted.
