Eligibility

Serves persons who are temporarily unable to care for their pet due to domestic violence, illness, foreclosure, house fire, or other dire situations. Domestic violence cases get priority for foster placement. May not be able to take pets with major medical issues or with aggressive temperaments (in some cases, the owner may need to provide a short term supply of medication for animals with chronic health issues).

Phone for information M-F: 2:00pm-8:00pm; Sa, Su: 11:00am-4:00pm (most local law enforcement agencies and the Domestic Violence Hotline can make an immediate referral to this program if after-hours). Intake forms are also available on the website.

Description

Offers limited time pet foster care for those who are temporarily unable to care for their pet. All animals placed in care will recieve vaccinations and/or spay/neuter if they have not already been (provided at no charge to the client). Families are given regular updates on how their companions are doing by volunteer program coordinators.
