Eligibility

Ages 6-11 in one class and 12-14 in another. Must have a diagnosis of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD).

Hours

Program operates during the day for 7 weeks each summer on a M-F basis. Follow up may continue year-round. Parents of participants meet weekly, usually in the evening.

Information sessions are offered each spring. Intake involves an application by staff of the program. Call for information and scheduling by leaving a message that will be returned.

Description

Provides a program to improve the ability of children diagnosed with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) to stay focused on tasks and to follow directions. Skill-building activities are presented in a highly structured camp environment. Areas covered include listening and taking notes, group problem-solving, development of sports knowledge, recreational activities, and social skills. Parent involvement is part of the program. Service may also include medication evaluation.
