Foster Care | Beech Brook
Offers Levels I-IV foster care for children removed from their homes. Some of the children have experienced multi disruptions and previous placements and usually have been diagnosed with some level of emotional disturbance. Foster parents help prepare children in their care for reunification with their families, for adoption, or for independent living (for older teens).

Application process
For foster placement, phone intake anytime using the special intake pager phone numbers. Referral required by the county each time client requests service. Referral is made by a social worker, court, or any custodial agency that will be responsible for the placement fees. Potential foster parents may call M-F: 8:30am-5:00pm for information and an appointment to review details of the process. Recruited foster parents must pass a criminal background check, and eveyone in their household must have and pass a physical exam.
Fee
The only third party payment accepted is Medicaid. Sliding fee scale based on income for others.
Eligibility
Children aged 0-21. Children in need of intensive services typically have a diagnosis of Severely Emotional Disturbed. May be being discharged from a hospital or residential facility. Child must be in the custody of the child protection agency in their jurisdiction. Potential foster parents must be at least 21 years of age and must own and be licensed to drive a vehicle for transport of children. Foster homes must pass a fire safety inspection, Serves Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, and Summit Counties.
