Foster Parent/Family Recruitment | Starting Point

Provides information and support for individuals and families interested in becoming foster parents. Services include guidance throughout the decision-making process, assistance with foster care licensing requirements, connections to community resources, and access to Starting Point’s child care referral services. Helps participants research options and navigate the foster care system as part of Ohio Department of Children and Youth’s It Takes 100% Heart campaign.

Eligibility

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, live in Ohio, and complete required background checks, home studies, and pre-service training. Foster parents must demonstrate financial stability, be in good physical and mental health, and maintain a safe home environment. Both single individuals and married couples may apply. Renters and homeowners are eligible.
