Serves as the approved bar association to accept ethics complaints against lawyers or judges with offices in Geauga County. Ethics violations could include knowingly misleading or lying to a client or a court; revealing a client's confidence or secret without the client's permission; misusing or taking money or property that belongs to a client; settling, filing, or dismissing a case without the client's permission; or repeatedly neglecting a client's legal problems after the lawyer has agreed to represent the client. A committee will investigate the complaint submitted, and will proceed as appropriate. Recovery of money damages or losses is not part of this procedure.
