Application required. Applications must be completed with a FEMA representative by phone. Online applications are not accepted. Once FEMA receives all required documentation, it takes approximately 45 days for an eligibility decision to be made.

Eligibility
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified non-citizen. Applicants must also be responsible for the costs of eligible funeral-related expenses that were incurred on or after January 20, 2020. Expenses may be eligible if the death occurred in the United States and was attributed to COVID-19.
