The Shelby County Engineer is responsible for the upgrade and maintenance of Shelby County roads and bridges. The highway department is responsible for plowing, mowing, fixing pot holes, paving, weed control and repairing or replacing bridges. They are also responsible for maintaining the county tax maps, county trucks and construction equipment and designing and maintaining county petition ditches.
