Fixed fee for filing (those who feel that they cannot pay can fill out a form called an "Affidavit of Indigency" for help with these fees).
Eligibility
Petitions are filed in cases where the parents were never married, in cases where the divorce has been finalized, and for third parties such as grandparents. Generally, this is not the filing office for custody/visitation cases that were determined by the Domestic Relations Court - in this situation, parents, relatives, and 3rd parties would need to go to the Domestic Relations Court for any modifications.
