Investigates and attempts to resolve all types of complaints about care provided to residents in licensed nursing homes, residential care facilities, adult care homes, long-term acute care hospitals and consumers of home care services. The Ombudsman Program provides information on long-term care laws, regulations, and rights.

Provides information, referrals and advocacy, as well as help resolving complaints regarding nursing homes, residential care facilities, adult care homes, and community-based care services. Assists in the selection of long-term care facilities, including providing information on those that offer Alzheimer's care units, and hospice and respite care.
