Eligibility

- Low-income households with an older household member (60 years or older) - Households that can provide physician documentation that cooling assistance is needed for a household member's health. - *Disconnection notice with their Electric Bill.

Required documents

When submitting an application, you are required to bring in: *Social Security Cards for everyone in the household *Heating and Electric Bill *Last 30 days of income for everyone who receives income in the household *If no Income- IRS Transcript may be required *Upon submission of the application, more documents may be required *Medical Certificate

The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program (SCP), also known as Summer Cooling, provides a one-time benefit to eligible households with cooling assistance during the summer months. Summer Cooling provides financial assistance to income-eligible households at or below 175% federal poverty level with a one-time payment to their electric bill and /or help to supply them with an air conditioner or fans. The program runs from July 1st to August 31st.
