Juvenile Mental Health Court | Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court - Juvenile Division
Handles cases dealing with juvenile offenders who have a severe mental illness. Provides assessment and links individual to appropriate treatment. Case managers work with the individual, school, home, and treatment provider. Open hearings are held weekly to assess individual cases and hearings become less frequent with compliance to the program's rules. After completion of the program, charges are dropped from youth's record.

Application process
Charges against youth must have already been filed with the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. Those who do not already have a severe mental health diagnosis will be given an assessment. May phone for information M-F: 8:30am-4:30pm.
Fee
Generally free, but may be some court costs (those who feel that they can not pay can fill out a form called an "Affidavit of Indigency" for help with these fees). Fees for mental health treatment will vary depending on the situation, type of treatment needed, income etc., sometimes may be a sliding scale or paid through a third party.

Youth 12-17 who have charges filed against them at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. Must have a severe mental illness.
