Can assist with obtaining documents necessary to verify proof of ownership of these funds, but actual claims must be filed through the State Dept. of Commerce. (Unclaimed funds are assets such as uncashed checks, inactive savings accounts, and insurance benefits that have existed in accounts or deposits that were inactive for a long period, usually five years or more.)
