Eligibility

Serves honorably discharged Veterans with four (4) years of discharge (for apartments) and up to 10 years of discharge (for houses) from the service and their families. NOTE: There is no transitional housing currently available in Ohio. Applicants must be willing to move.

Fees

No fee to apply. Security deposit must be paid before moving in. For houses, monthly fee must be paid.

Description

Provides transitional housing (apartments and houses) with support services for Veterans recently honorably discharged from the service and their families who are currently homeless after having to vacate base housing. Offers support services including case management with an Operation Homefront counselor, support groups, workshops, benefits briefings, and resume writing classes. Operation Homefront covers rent, utilities, and internet in the apartment housing. Utilities are not covered in the transitional houses.

Provides financial assistance to low-income currently active military personnel deployed overseas and wounded post 9/11 Veterans. Offers mortgage-free homes to active military and Veteran families donated to Operation Homefront and transitional housing to Veterans.
