To be eligible for Ohio Medicaid, clients must meet certain criteria, including the following: - United States Citizen or meet Medicaid Citizenship requirements. - Be in possession of or obtain a social security number. - Ohio resident. - Meet financial requirements. - For applicable programs, meet resource requirements. - Non United States Citizens might be eligible for Non-Citizen Emergency Medical Assistance or Refugee Medical Assistance. - For more information regarding eligibility, financial requirements, available resources, or documents visit www.medicaid.gov.

- Clients may call the Ohio Benefits Phone Line Contact Center Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm to begin the application process, renew, and/or update their case information. May also apply, renew, and/or update case information through website anytime. NOTE: Client must have an email address to do this. - If preferred, may also pick up and drop off paper applications Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm and submit documents on-site. - NOTE: MCP-eligible clients must select and enroll in an MCP, or will be auto-enrolled randomly (plan can be changed with reason, or during open enrollment).

No fee to apply and no fee for those who qualify. Some services have co-pays.

Description

Provides programs administered by the state that provides medical benefits for individuals and families with limited incomes who fit into an eligibility group that is recognized by federal and state law. Programs include the following: - Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI): Medicaid for parents, caretaker relatives, pregnant women, newborns, children, extension adults, transitional Medicaid, and possible dual eligibility with Aged Blind and Disabled Medicaid and Medicare recipients. - Aged Blind and Disabled (ABD): Categorically Needy. Medicaid for 65 and older. Meets Social Security Administration (SSA) definition of blind or disabled. - MPAP: QMB, SLMB, QI-1, QWDI: Medicare Premium Assistance for those in receipt of Medicare. - MBIWD: Medicaid for individuals between ages of 16 and 64 who meet the SSA definition of blind and disabled and are working. Possible premium required. - SRS: Medicaid for those age 21 and over who are receiving SSI or SSDI, meet SRS diagnosis, and are in receipt of another Medicaid category. - Non-Citizen Emergency Medicaid Assistance (NCEMA): Apply at any time. Requires state approval to receive Medicaid eligibility and span. - LTC and Waiver Services: Medicaid for individuals in nursing facilities, assisted living, or home care.
