Door To Door Transportation | Senior Transportation Connection

Provides transportation for any purpose (medical appointments, shopping, hairdresser, etc.), rides to the polls during election season for seniors living in partner communities. In general, destinations are limited to the suburbs served, with clients remaining on their own side of the county. There are a few exceptions, such as some suburban medical facilities outside the immediate service area, but in most cases all trips outside partner communities would be only on a space- and time-available basis.

Application process

Phone to schedule by 12:00noon, 3 business days prior to the needed trip. New clients may schedule trips up to 7 days in advance. Those with regular appointments at the same time(s) on the same day(s) may schedule up to 14 days in advance. A message can be left on answering machine and call will be returned. On first call, information will be obtained, including contact information, relevant health information, etc. First-time clients from City of Cleveland must first call intake number at the Dept. of Aging to register for service, M-F: 8:00am-5:00pm. Registration form can be mailed out or picked up from local senior centers. In some cases, registration can be completed over the phone. NOTE: Some municipal and nonprofit providers expand or limit eligibility by age (i.e. seniors 55 and older) or specialized populations (i.e. persons with disabilities).

Fee

Small fixed fees each way, higher if leaving the municipality service area (subject to availability).

Eligibility

Open to those age 60 or older, with or without disabilities, who live in partner communities. The following cities allow their residents to register directly with STC: Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, Richmond Heights and University Heights. Some municipal and nonprofit providers expand or limit eligibility by age (i.e. seniors 55 and older) or specialized populations (i.e. persons with disabilities).
