The Athens County Victim Assistance Office provides services for victims in the aftermath of a crime. Services include: - Support - Information regarding the criminal justice system and proceedings - Information regarding the rights of crime victims - Court escort - Assistance with victim impact statements - Assistance with applying for crime compensation, if eligible - Assistance with petitioning for civil protection orders - Notification concerning case status and upcoming court dates - Information and referral - Representation through interaction with court personnel, social service agencies and other victim service personnel.
