Serves as the chief legal officer of Ross County. Handles felony prosecution of adults, including offenses such as Aggravated Murder, Rape, Domestic Violence and Drug Possession and Trafficking. Handles all juvenile prosecutions. Represents children's interests in abuse, neglect, and dependency cases and works to establish paternity and collect court-ordered child support. Works closely with the courts and other agencies in providing assistance to victims.

Ross County Prosecutor's Office

The county prosecutor is responsible for prosecuting felony offenses within the county. The prosecutor is also the statutory legal advisor to all the county elected officials, the county commissioners, various county boards, the board of elections, township boards and the public library. The Ross County Prosecutor’s Office defends and prosecutes lawsuits and actions to which these county personnel may be involved. It is the prosecutor’s duty to advise these county boards as to their legal rights and responsibilities.
