Yellow Ribbon | John Carroll University

Provides eligible student veterans the opportunity to attend nearly tuition free by providing a scholarship which covers the cost of either the undergraduate or graduate tuition not covered by the student veteran's GI Bill.

Application process

Eligibility is determined by the US Department of Veterans Affairs via an online application for benefits. After filling out the online application on the VA's website, an eligible veteran will receive a Certificate of Eligibility (CE) from the VA which he or she must present to the Financial Aid Office. Any Yellow Ribbon financial aid will then be credited to the student's account.

Veterans who served an aggregate period of duty after 09/11/2001 of 36 months; or an honorably discharged veteran separated for a service connected disability and served 30 continuous days after 09/10/2001; or the dependant of a veteran eligible for transfer of Entitlement under Post-9/11 GI Bill. Students receiving Yellow Ribbon benefits must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
