Eligibility

For the mother, must be pregnant OR lactating with a baby up to one year of age, OR be postpartum for up to six months after the termination of a pregnancy by birth, miscarriage, or abortion. Mothers younger than 18 do NOT need parental/guardian permission. Children are eligible up to 5th birthday. Those who have custody of a child (including fathers and kinship caregivers) are eligible to receive food assistance for the child through the child's fifth birthday. Eligible individuals must live in Lawrence County, must be at nutritional risk as determined by the agency. Income eligibility guidelines are up to 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines that were in effect the previous April 1. Number in household includes unborn children (Example: A pregnant, single woman is a household of 2.) Definition of income does NOT include household assets. Individuals receiving Medicaid, Ohio Works First, or Food Stamps automatically meet income eligibility.
