GOLDEN CIPHERS/BLACK BUTTERFLIES&YOUNG MEN EMERGE MENTORING/MALE&FEMALE RITES OF PASSAGE/EET | GOLDEN CIPHERS

Provides an after school program for youth which teaches life skills and healthy choices. Includes substance abuse education/prevention, HIV education/prevention (including abstinence), stress and anger management, goal setting, and employment readiness. There are separate groups for girls and boys. Adult volunteers assist as speakers and support youth in the program. Also functions as a Juvenile Diversion program from the courts.

Application process

Phone for information. There will be a telephone interview followed by an interview on site; parent or guardian will need to come in with child for intake interview, and every effort is made to remove any barriers to attendance. Some participants will be referred by Probation Officers, social service agencies, or churches - these persons/agencies can call or fax referral.
