STATE IDENTITY CARDS - OHIO RESIDENTS | OHIO BUREAU OF MOTOR VEHICLES
Provides a photo card that proves identity and Ohio residency. Two options are available: Compliant - will need for air travel or Standard cards (Note: The federal government will no longer consider standard driver licenses and identification cards as sufficient forms of identification for air travel.) Individuals may not hold both a state identity card and a state driver's license. Cards are good for eight (8) years, expiring on the applicant's birthday.

Application process
Walk-in for service, may visit website and use the "Get In Line Online" feature - The system allows customers to “Get in Line, Online” before arriving at one of their local deputy registrars. After checking-in online, customers have a four-hour window to arrive at the deputy registrar location, check in at a self-service kiosk, and claim their spot in line. ID cards will be received by mail about 10 days after renewing or applying at a Deputy Registrar agency
Fee
Free for those 17 years and older. Fixed fee for those 16 and younger.
Eligibility
Ohio residents of any age. Ohio residency is established when individual adults (18 and over) who have newly moved to the state take a job, sign a lease, buy a home, register to vote, or enroll children in school.
