Application process
- Clients may fill out initial application on-line at benefits.ohio.gov or call the Shared Services Line. - Clients who may be eligible for Medicare will be referred for enrollment. - Application (original or reinstatement) must be approved or denied within 30 to 45 days NOT including disability determination. - NOTE: Those who are waiting for disability determination by Social Security can receive their disability determination for Medicaid through the county - this can take weeks to months.

Eligibility
- Must live in Harrison County and be a United States (U.S.) citizen. - Serves adults age 65 or over and considered legally blind or disabled, or persons of any age who receive SSI or SSD. - Financial eligibility takes into account both income and resources, and is set at 75% of the Federal Poverty Level. - NOTE: Anyone who already receives any dollar amount of SSI will automatically qualify for Medicaid without filing a separate application or meeting an asset test.
